Senior Logistics Specialist/Manager

Currently we are seeking multiple Senior Logistics Specialist/Manager individuals at Patuxent River Naval Air Station, MD supporting multiple program offices as well as the Naval Sustainment Group (NSG).  This position performs various tasks related to the development, operation, evaluation, and improvement of weapon systems supportability and/or maintainability programs and information systems and works closely with NSG Representatives, Deputy Assistant Program Managers, Logistics (DAPMLs), other logistics team members, IPT members, and functional Logistics Element Managers (LEMs).  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  •  Senior Logistics support SMEs to Product Support Managers (PSMs), Assistant Program Manager for Logistics (APMLs), Deputy APMLs, and LEMs. 
  •  Performs various tasks related to the development, operation, evaluation, and improvement of weapon systems supportability and/or maintainability programs and information systems. 
  •  Works on logistics and maintainability programs with various logistics personnel across the Mission Aligned Organization (MAO) on issues such as: technical evaluation and identification of weapons systems logistics requirements and resources; development of logistics support and maintainability programs or plans; systems acquisition requirements analysis; budgetary or financial analysis and control; and, IPS/R&M program management analysis.
  • Collects, compiles, analyzes, investigates, researches, or applies logistics, maintenance, acquisition, or financial data and information. 
  •  Develops, modifies, prepares, or validates documentation in relation to automated logistics or maintenance data reporting systems, and management information systems. 
  • Able to perform logistics planning and management functions in support of in-service aircraft, weapon systems, training, or SE programs. 
  • Able to work with various Deputy Technical Warrant Holders in logistics functional areas to investigate and review processes and references and recommend technical improvements if needed in such areas as:  

     - Comparative Analysis

     - Baseline Comparison System

     - New Technology Insertion

     - Standardization and Interoperability

     - Supportability Analysis and Design Reviews

     - Design Interface & Maintenance Planning Process

 

 Qualifications:

  •  Must be a U. S. Citizen
  •   Must have the ability to obtain/hold a Secret security clearance.
  • Master’s Degree (Extensive experience may be used to substitute for graduate level education)
  •  At least ten (15) years’ experience in defense logistics in either a sustainment or acquisition role.

 

  The Ideal Candidate will possess:

  • Extensive background with Logistics/Integrated Product Support practices and processes.
  • Strong Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, PowerPoint, Excel) skills.
  • Natural ability for Team building, coordination and professional development to include providing training in a guided discussion/practical environment.
  •  Experience in technical analysis of logistics acquisition requirements analysis as well as experience demonstrating ability to independently perform IPS studies, analysis, and evaluations in   support of DoD weapons systems or equipment.
  •  Operational (fleet support) logistics support experience.
  • Experience in operational logistics planning and management which demonstrates the ability to perform independent work to provide logistics planning, scheduling, execution and support system effectiveness analysis, studies and evaluations in support of DOD weapons systems and equipment.

Senior Logistician

Currently we are seeking a Senior Logistician individual at Patuxent River Naval Air Station, MD supporting the PMA-266 Program Office within PEO (U&W), as the MQ-9 Increment II Logistics Integrator for Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR), as well as Payloads & Missions Systems (IPM).  This position works closely with the MQ-9 Product Support Manager and the MQ-9 IPM IPT on cradle-to-grave logistics management of payload products and involve product coordination, planning and management with multiple Deputy Assistant Program Managers, Logistics (DAPMLs), other logistics team members, IPT members, functional Logistics Element Managers (LEMs), Fleet Support Teams, and other military services, including Fleet Readiness Centers (FRCs) and commercial repair activities as necessary. The position will interface with the Increment I MQ-9 MUX/MALE production and sustainment IPTs as required to integrate the payloads into the UAS.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

 

In support of MQ-9 Inc. II payload sensors program, the responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

 

Integrated Product Support Management

 

Develop and implement product support and maintenance concepts/requirements for assigned systems to achieve program goals and objectives while minimizing life cycle cost.   

 

Identify, plan and execute logistics efforts to ensure all aspects of the total system life cycle (i.e. acquisition and sustainment) are in place to meet program requirements. Implement a plan of action and milestones (POA&M) in support of the logistics program. 

 

Develop and review program technical documentation and provide alternatives and recommendations on logistics/maintenance issues and requirements. 

 

Assist in the development and management of contract requirements (i.e., statements of work and contract data requirements) to support systems engineering/acquisition phases.  The efforts may include the processing of Procurement Initiation Document (PIDs) for procurement of hardware/software, labor and technical assists as required.

 

Plan, and assist with implementing maintenance capability establishment as required to support maintenance concepts/requirements to achieve program goals and objectives within budget and life cycle cost.

 

Provide analyses and develop strategy for systems/sub-systems lifecycle support for Obsolescence and Diminishing Manufacturing Sources and Material Shortages (DMSMS) challenges to logistically sustain platform to sundown projections.

 

 

 

 

 

Technical Support

 

Participate in the Configuration Management Process by developing, reviewing and submitting documentation in support of Engineering Change Proposals, Configuration Control Board (CCB) Presentations, and Technical Directives.

 

Critically evaluate the causes of support related problems and develop appropriate courses of action that balance the interests of the program mission and the stakeholders.

 

Participate in risk management processes and early identification of system integration risks.

 

Provide analyses on degraders and data gathered from logistics management information systems in the execution of logistics and program planning documentation. 

 

As required, participate in Reliability Control Boards (RCBs), or other readiness initiatives. Support Degrader Action Cell (DAC) leads by providing required data and analyses on top degraders.

 

Customer Service

 

Interface with DOD, OPNAV, other services/agencies, supply chain managers, the Fleet, Fleet Support Team (FST), field activities, test and evaluation organizations, other NAVAIR entities, and contractors in performance of duties and in the resolution of issues. 

 

Represent the IPT at the ILS Working Groups, Logistics Products and Process Reviews, Integrated Logistics Assessments, Milestone Reviews, Maintenance Working Groups, Operational Capability Supportability Reviews, etc., in support of the program. 

 

Prepare and/or deliver presentations to customers/stakeholders to address support posture and justify logistics requirements/implementation.   

 

Qualifications:

·       Must be a U. S. Citizen

·       US Government clearance required

·       Bachelor’s Degree

·       Prior NAVAIR APML or PDAPML experience
